DRAFT — Pending COPPA and international children’s privacy review

TaleKin Children’s Privacy Policy

Version 0.1Last updated: July 18, 2026

1. TaleKin is designed for families

TaleKin is designed for families, with accounts, purchases, sharing choices, and privacy settings controlled by an adult. A child may enjoy a story with an adult, but a child may not create an account or provide payment information.

The operator of talekin.co is Future Insight Co., Limited, RM A1, 11/F, Winner Building, 36 Man Yue Street, Hung Hom, Hong Kong.

2. Notice and parental consent

Before TaleKin uploads a child’s name, photo, voice, or other personal information to our servers or an AI provider, we intend to provide direct notice to the parent or guardian and obtain verifiable parental consent when COPPA requires it.

Information collected solely to request consent must be used only for that purpose and deleted if consent is not completed within a published period. The consent method and period have not yet been implemented or approved by counsel, so this draft is not an operative consent notice.

3. Children’s information we may need

  • A name or nickname and age range to tailor the story’s language and length.
  • A photo to create and maintain the child’s character.
  • Interests, story ideas, and family messages to personalize the plot.
  • Generated character art, stories, illustrations, and reading records for the family library.
  • Voice recordings only when an adult turns on an audio feature.

4. Information we do not need

We do not need a child’s school, precise location, direct contact details, government ID, or health information for story creation. Parents and children should not provide them.

TaleKin must not condition a child’s participation on providing more information than is reasonably necessary for the feature the parent selects.

5. How children’s information is used

A photo is used to create and maintain the child’s character; age range helps adapt language and length; interests and family prompts shape the story; and optional voice material supports a feature selected by the adult.

TaleKin does not intend to use a child’s personal information for behavioral advertising or sell it. These statements may become effective only after analytics, advertising, provider contracts, and CCPA definitions have been verified. Child data must not be used to train a general-purpose model unless a parent receives a separate, clear explanation and makes a choice permitted by law.

6. Providers and international processing

To deliver a parent-selected feature, the minimum necessary child information may be processed by approved cloud hosting, image, language, or audio providers in the United States. A named provider list and contractual limits on use, retention, security, training, location, and onward disclosure must be completed before this Policy becomes effective.

7. Private by default

A child’s profile and creations are private to the family account by default. An authorized adult controls whether to create a sharing link or publish content. Public sharing must use a separate confirmation step and clearly explain that recipients may copy or forward the material.

8. Retention and deletion

COPPA requires a stated business need and deletion timeframe. TaleKin must publish and implement separate periods for consent requests, source photos, generated content, voice material, account records, and backups before this Policy takes effect.

The current product does not yet provide verified deletion across databases, object storage, processors, and backups. It must not promise immediate or permanent deletion until that process works end to end.

9. A parent’s choices and rights

A parent or guardian may review the personal information we maintain about a child, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw consent, and refuse further collection or disclosure. We may verify the requester’s identity and authority before acting, without requesting excessive information.

Withdrawing consent may stop a feature that depends on a photo or voice, but should not prevent access to a separate feature that does not need that information. The tested request channel and response procedure must be published with the effective version.

10. A short note for children

This is your photo. TaleKin uses it to draw the character in your story. Ask a grown-up you trust to review and approve it first. Do not add your school, home address, or contact information.

11. Contact

Draft contact: privacy@talekin.co. Written requests may be sent to Future Insight at the address in Section 1. COPPA requires complete operator contact information, so the email and a public telephone number must be activated and verified before this Policy becomes effective.

This draft was prepared with a privacy-compliance review workflow and must be approved by qualified counsel before it becomes effective.
